And he better stay away from Britney Spears

Congratulations to Tony Romo on his new lucrative contract that will keep a star on his helmet through the year 2013. Romo has not even started 20 games in the NFL, but he still deserves every penny that Jerry Jones gave him.
Tony Romo is a bonafide rock star, at least in Dallas, with the potential to become a nationally celebrated superstar. If anyone has a chance to return the Cowboys to the glory days of the 1990s and reclaim the Cowboys' title of "America's Team," it's Romo.
His leadership, gunslinger passing style, charismatic personality and general affection for the game of football are refreshing for football fans who are still reeling from Ron Mexico's criminal convictions.
Romo's potential greatness as a football player and high marketability justify his six-year, $67 million contract. Is there a better way to market season tickets in the new 100,000-seat stadium than with a popular, marquee quarterback?
In spite of all of Tony Romo's positive attributes, he still has a lot of room to grow as an NFL quarterback and choked in the biggest game of his young career. This does not mean Romo will curse the Cowboys like A-Rod seemingly cursed the Yankees, but it shows that even Cowboy fans should not anoint Romo the next Troy Aikman.
Furthermore, Romo cannot let his success and local fanatic following get into his head. Dallas fans got a taste of this when rumors about a relationship between Romo and Carrie Underwood were swirling around the city. When Underwood showed up to a Cowboys game, Romo had one of his worst games of the season and, consequently, the Cowboys lost.
Now rumors are going about Romo and Britney Spears eating together. These rumors are probably untrue, but Romo needs to avoid these situations and people like Spears.
If Romo can stay grounded as he becomes more famous, then there is no reason that he cannot lead Dallas to the Super Bowl this year in the weak NFC. Dallas probably will not win this year because of the Patriots. However, the Cowboys can compete with any team in the NFL and stand a chance in any playoff matchup.
Whether Romo stays grounded or not, he still deserves a contract that even exceeds Tom Brady's in value. After all, he would get more on the open market, and, like it or not, he is Dallas' best chance at another Super Bowl win.
