Stand Virginia Tech, Stand

to begin to gather golden promises stolen, Stand
to pick up scattered blood and sweep up spilt tears,
Stand, to hold fading shadows of loved ones and
soothe those last, lasting screams of help and horror,
Stand Virginia Tech, Stand to mourn, to hope, Stand
to remember, to heal, Stand, to love, to endure, to pray,
Stand, to embrace the fallen-but-not-forgotten, and hold
them to the sun, Stand, to soul-search-soul-find, Stand
to Stand-still-standing-strong never to fall, Stand Virginia Tech,
Stand, so you can gather every new day, every hope, Stand,
because today and tomorrow and always we will Stand,
with you, by you, for you, together, Standing, together,
until the white day you remember to smile again, Stand,
Virginia Tech STAND. (Continued…)
