TCU runs away with 48-7 win; keep Iron Skillet

On Saturday night the Mustangs gave the game to TCU early, literally. On the first drive of the game SMU receiver Aldrick Robinson fumbled the ball. TCU recovered and scored a touchdown on the ensuing drive. The next time SMU had the ball quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell threw an interception that was returned 24 yards for another touchdown. In 2002 a Kansas State University freshman named Ali Kemp was raped and murdered. In her memory, and with the aim of saving the lives of others, her parents created The Ali Kemp Educational Foundation (TAKE). The foundation presents self-defense courses at campuses across the country, and on Wednesday, thanks to the collaboration of Sigma Phi Epsilon and Pi Beta Phi, the course will be offered to the women of SMU and the Dallas community at large. The SMU Memorial Health Center recently received accreditation from the Accreditation Associated for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). "We believe our patients deserve the best," Health Center Director Pat Hite said. "When you see our certificate of accreditation, you will know that the AAAHC, an independent, not-for-profit organization, has closely examined our facility and procedures. (0) comments

Once considered a lost part of SMU student culture, SMU Rides is back for the fourth year in a row and increasing in popularity. SMU Rides is an entirely student run organization that partners with Executive Taxi to provide a free cab back to the campus and surrounding areas for SMU students who call. (0) comments

The last act of the Talent Show has concluded. The football game has ended and the early morning 5K run has been completed. Family Weekend is over. And, as it has been, it was capped off by Asian Council's Parents Dinner. "The purpose of Parents' Dinner is to showcase the Asian community and organizations to the parents," Julianne Nguyen, President of Asian Council, said. (0) comments

KA 5K race targets drunk driving

Drenched in sweat, every fiery muscle-cramping step was a step closer to preventing a drunk driving death. The Kappa Alpha fraternity hosted a 5K race, "The Race for the Iron Skillet," Saturday morning in which 130 racers and walkers participated to raise money for the Mothers Against Drunk Driving organization.
