Packing up the past 18 years of your life and trying to cram it all into what seems like a prison cell-sized dorm room is anything but a glamorous task. Now imagine hundreds of freshmen shoving their lives into elevators, pushing bookshelves up narrow stairwells and rolling desk chairs down chaotic hallways with dozens of students and parents trying to maneuver the same objects down the same overcrowded hallways. The other night I had the amazing experience of going to see a George Michael concert. I have always been a big fan his, but never had the chance to see him live. I am only 21; admittedly I was not familiar with his entire collection of music. In an attempt to familiarize myself with his music and career I went online. (3) comments
I don't know why I even bother to continue to bash my head against a brick wall in addressing serious issues on this campus. Maybe it's because so few other people bother to ask the hard questions, or because that fact bothers even fewer. As we start this new school year, it's tempting to wipe the slate clean on what has happened at SMU over the past two years. (0) comments
Subject: Run! Shoot! He's Locked and Loaded! Am I the only one who is put off by this billboard? SMU is advertising its new football coach with a gun metaphor? By highlighting "run," "shoot" and "locked and loaded," all I can think about is guns on campus. (0) comments
