The nation is still focused on Blacksburg, Va. as all Americans honor the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings. But as the initial shock wears off, news organizations need to be weary of hyping a story that doesn't need the standard cable news sensationalism. (1) comment

It is no mystery that the tragedy of April 16 at Virginia Tech stands out as the deadliest student-perpetrated school shooting in the history of the United States. It goes without saying that an immediate sense of shock spread across the nation as we learned of the tragedy unfolding from networks like CNN and Fox News. (3) comments

In one of Dr. Seuss' children's stories, "The Lorax," a mythological creature named the Lorax "speaks for the trees, for the trees have no tongues" against the corporate world that mows down his forest. The other day, an acquaintance told me that mankind's contribution to any supposed global warming was insignificant and just hooey. Heathens needed to realize that God is in charge and though it took him only seven days to set her all up, it would take humans hundreds of years to so much as put a dent in God's grand creation.
