Once upon a time a boy asked out a girl…in person. The only things they knew about each other resulted from hearsay or prior conversations with one another. Flash-forward to today - a girl is considered lucky if a boy asks her out during a phone call. Usually the question comes in the form of a Facebook message or an SMS (short message system), whether that is a text message or an instant message. (0) comments

Congratulations, Rutgers University Lady Scarlet Knights. As the second best basketball team in the country, you have received the nickname of "nappy-headed ho's" from national radio host, Don Imus. Not only did you have one of the best seasons in school history and make it to the NCAA finals, but you also earned a stereotype of "tattooed ho's. (0) comments

This weekend Dedman Law School's Christian Legal Society will be hosting a controversial and well-known institute that preaches a religious message masked in a capsule of pseudoscience. The Discovery Institute is one of the nations leading political action groups. (18) comments

A few days ago, Roseanne Barr made a controversial statement on a radio talk show and, under pressure of PC watchdogs, quickly recanted and apologized. True, she could've been more eloquent, but she had a point. The statement or rather sentiment in question was: gay rights activists are self-centered. (0) comments

As a former Texan, I was happy to read your feature on SMU students and alumni choosing organic foods ("Consumers weigh advantages of eating organic," April 10.) While public health and environmental concerns are sound reasons to opt for organics, animal welfare is also an important factor to consider. (0) comments
