Condo owners' appeal denied

Ruling allows SMU to proceed with demolition

A federal court judge refused to grant a stay on the appeal of the University Gardens condo owners, allowing SMU to begin demolition on the property. Judge Jerry Buchmeyer upheld his ruling Wednesday, which said SMU is the sole owner of the complex and is entitled to begin knocking down the units. (1) comment

Sophomore Jake Stiles died from a lethal cocktail of an expensive prescription pain killer, cocaine and alcohol according to a report from the Dallas County Medical Examiner. Stiles was found dead in his room inside the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house on Dec. 2. (26) comments
