Dedman College recently honored Robert Ware Haley with its 2008 Distinguished Graduate award. Haley is currently researching Gulf War syndrome in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Haley has helped define the symptoms of Gulf War syndrome and improved hospital care for Gulf War veterans with the syndrome.…

Hyndman leaves for FC Dallas

Hyndman leaves for FC Dallas

FC Dallas, of the MLS, announced the hiring of Schellas Hyndman as the team's new head coach on June 4. FC Dallas fired former head coach Steve Morrow on May 21. In his 24 seasons Hyndman took the Mustangs to the NCAA Tournament 23 times. He leaves the college game with 466 career wins, the 12th highest in NCAA history.

There are few coaches in SMU school history that have accomplished more in their respective sport than former SMU head coach Schellas Hyndman. After 24 seasons as the Mustangs' coach, 31 total at the collegiate level, Hyndman departed the college ranks to coach Major League Soccer's FC Dallas.
